From the deck, both wood and stone steps take the visitor down to the lake passing a large hammock and the Wall Pub. There is ample space for guests to relax under the shade of the tall pine trees. On the lake and river there are two docks that extend into the water. The natural fire-pit area has a great view of the massive boulders from which the lodge takes its name. It is rumoured that there is an enormous musky currently living under the big rock. Many of the lakes biggest fish have been caught just off our pier at this very spot. The largest boulder was once called the "Spirit Rock" by Native Americans who allegedly used this holy ground as an important meeting spot. The property was said to be a place of "Big Medicine". |
